Letter of Invitation
The decision about organising the 1st Specialised Exhibition SWIMMING POOLS 2003 dedicated only to swimming pool issues and swimming pool technologies, including accompanying events connected thereto, overcomes the significant gap which we have been feeling in our country for several years. There are some little events organised on a regional basis, it is true, but there has not been any complete nation-wide technically focused exhibition yet. The exhibition SWIMMING POOLS 2003 meets requirements of growing needs of the domestic clientele from the number of public, hotel and family swimming pools. In terms of its contents and focus, the Exhibition takes the concepts corresponding to similar events organised in various countries. Balneotechnology, dealing with designing swimming pools and aquaparks, is in the Czech Republic (like in other countries of the world) one of the sectors which are currently undergoing a rapid development, and it has its representation also in the preparation schemes for young civil engineers at the Building Faculty of the Prague University of Technology (ČVUT), at the Department of Sanitary Engineering where it is possible to study designing swimming pool technologies.
The meeting of the firms, experts from similar scientific branches and potential customers will help to a good presentation of this sector and to the establishment of new contacts, both commercial and professional, as well as to the obtaining of the information necessary for its further development.
I would like to wish all exhibitors and participants of the Exhibition a pleasant stay, nice experience and a lot of benefits coming from the hours usefully spent at the Exhibition SWIMMING POOLS 2003. As far as the Exhibition itself is concerned, I wish it a positive response which will lead to demands for the organisation of such an exhibition in next years as well.
Ing . Bohumil Šťastný
Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Sanitary Engineering of the Building Faculty of ČVUT and Member of the Swimming Pool Association (ABAS).
